A very fine example of a late‑18th‑century Irish mantel, with corner blocks and a centrally placed, finely carved tablet. The jambs and frieze panels feature exceptionally fine scagliola inlay depicting ribbon‑tied trailing vines, executed in the manner of the Dublin‑based Italian chimneypiece maker Pietro Bossi.
