The Brockhurst

Fort Brockhurst was built in the mid 19th century to protect Portsmouth and its harbor. The officers’ mess has its original chimneypiece, in the style of an earlier Regency design.

The Brockhurst is carved in Statuary marble and is shown with the Kenwood I fire basket from the English Heritage Collection.
