A finely carved Louis XV fireplace in Carrara marble, distinguished by the fluid, asymmetrical ornament characteristic of the Rococo period. The serpentine frieze is centered by an exuberantly carved shell cartouche, framed by scrolling acanthus leaves and floral motifs, with shaped jambs continuing the richly sculptural decoration. It is presented complete with its original cast iron interior panels.
